Friday, the Dow closed 287.16 points (1.15%) higher at 25,339.99, the NASDAQ rose by 167.83 points (2.29%) to 7,496.89 and the S&P 500 gained 38.76 points (1.42%) to finish at 2,767.13. The Russell 2000 increased by 1.30 points (0.08%) to 1,546.68, and the Wilshire 5000 was up by 370.47 points (1.31%) to end at 28,568.93. The price of the 10-year Treasury note was down 2/32, increasing its yield to 3.160%. The price of the 30-year Treasury bond decreased 8/32, bringing its yield up to 3.339%. WEEK’S WORTH: For the week ending October 12, the Dow fell 4.19%, the NASDAQ declined by 3.74%, and the S&P 500 lost 4.10%. The Russell 2000 was down 5.23% and the Wilshire 5000 finished 4.20% lower.
