Tuesday, the Dow gained 194.55 points (0.55%) to finish at 35,813.80, the Nasdaq closed 79.62 points (0.50%) lower at 15,775.14, and the S&P 500 increased 7.76 points (0.17%) to 4,690.70. The Russell 2000 was down 3.49 points (0.15%) at 2,327.86, and the Wilshire 5000 was virtually unchanged at 48,300.04.

The price of the 10-year Treasury note was down 4/32, increasing its yield to 1.678%. The price of the 30-year Treasury bond decreased 1 6/32, bringing its yield up to 2.035%.
