Thursday, the Dow fell 622.24 points (1.78%) to 34,312.03, the Nasdaq lost 407.38 points (2.88%) to finish at 13,716.72, and the S&P 500 closed 94.75 points (2.12%) lower at 4,380.26. The Russell 2000 decreased 51.22 points (2.46%) to 2,028.09, and the Wilshire 5000 plunged 1,033.57 points (2.28%) to 44,251.66.

The price of the 10-year Treasury note increased 28/32, bringing its yield down to 1.968%. The price of the 30-year Treasury bond climbed 32/32, decreasing its yield to 2.300%.
