The Russell 2000 increased 51.42 points (2.35%) to 2,239.63, and the Wilshire 5000 climbed 465.35 points (1.08%) to 43,673.61.

The prices of the 10-year Treasury note and 30-year Treasury bond were virtually unchanged, with their yields down to 1.560% and 2.255%, respectively.
