Tuesday, the Dow closed 391.64 points (1.58%) lower at 24,361.45, the NASDAQ fell 37.26 points (0.50%) to 7,369.59, and the S&P 500 decreased 31.47 points (1.16%) to 2,689.86. The Russell 2000 was down 3.28 points (0.20%) at 1,623.65, and the Wilshire 5000 closed 277.73 points (0.98%) lower at 28,057.79. The price of the 10-year Treasury note increased 1 10/32, bringing its yield down to 2.778%. The price of the 30-year Treasury bond climbed 2 17/32, decreasing its yield to 2.962%.
