New President for LPL Retirement Partners

Bill Chetney has been named president of LPL Retirement Partners, a subsidiary of LPL Financial Holdings Inc., effective January 1, 2014.

Chetney is currently the executive vice president of LPL Retirement Partners, a division of LPL that he helped develop into a key business unit, according to a statement from the firm. As president of LPL Retirement Partners, Chetney will continue to report to Robert Moore, president of LPL Financial Holdings Inc.

Earlier roles for Chetney include service as founder, CEO and president of National Retirement Partners (NRP). LPL acquired certain assets of NRP in 2010 as the basis for a new retirement-focused business unit, at which time Chetney joined LPL.

Over the last few years with LPL, Chetney has built and managed teams tasked with delivering comprehensive retirement planning tools and resources used by LPL advisers and their clients.

Under Chetney’s leadership, LPL Retirement Partners has recruited more than 400 advisers, reaching some 32,000 retirement plans and 3 million participants, according to the firm’s statement. He also contributed to the launch of LPL’s Worksite Financial Solutions, an end-to-end advice and education program for both employers and employees.
