John Hancock Program Helps Advisers Map Retirement Income

John Hancock Variable Annuities said it designed a new tool to help advisers develop guaranteed retirement income plans for their clients.

The Advisor of Choice program, officially launched today, provides education, customizable tools, and business-building sales support, according to a release. The program centers around the Income Readiness Review, a customizable program providing advisers with materials to conduct a client review (e.g. client income review matrix, appointment invitations, confirmation letters, worksheets, review summary, and referral follow-up).

The program includes a section on the John Hancock Annuities Web site at, as well as a CD-ROM of materials. Advisers can also attend a one-hour continuing education course called “Become the Advisor of Choice: Understanding the Power of the Retirement Income Plan,’ offered through Wood Logan Academy.

John Hancock noted the importance of retirement income in the adviser practice.

“Research has shown that a large percentage of investors aged 55 to 65 are looking for an adviser who can help them develop a comprehensive retirement income plan,” said Marc Costantini, president of John Hancock Variable Annuities. “In fact, a majority of these investors would be willing to consolidate all of their assets with one trusted adviser who demonstrates the capability to best position their assets to help produce retirement income.”
