Great-West Opens Virtual Classroom for Participants

Great-West Retirement Services now offers a virtual classroom to educate participants in the defined contribution plans it manages.

A series of programs in the Internet-based classroom cover not only retirement planning but also overall financial and investment planning, according to a release by Great-West Retirement Services, a business unit of Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Company. For each program, participants are instructed through a series of video lessons supplemented by a downloadable workbook.

Topics about financial planning include: basic planning, investment strategies, education funding, life insurance, mortgages, debt reduction, estate planning, and effective integration of company-provided financial benefits.

Great-West said the program teaches the fundamentals of financial objectives and the variables that affect them, aiding participants in gathering the financial data they need, and helping them define their goals and assumptions. Through the program, participants can then create a strategy for attaining their goals.
