Federated Investors Names Alternatives Head

Michael Dieschbourg joined Federated Investors Inc. as head of the company’s new alternatives and managed-risk investment group.

Dieschbourg will serve as a managing director and senior vice president and will report to Stephen Auth, chief investment officer for global equities. He joins Federated Investors with more than 25 years of experience in U.S. and global investment management, the firm says.

Before coming to Federated Investors, Dieschbourg worked as a senior managing director at Broadmark Asset Management, which specializes in dynamic hedge fund strategies. He is also the former chief executive officer and global head of environmental, social and corporate governance for Global Currents Investment Management LLC.

Dieschbourg holds the certified investment management analyst (CIMA) designation and earned a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago.

The new investment group, which Dieschbourg will lead, combines two existing teams that are tasked with delivering new products in the managed-risk and alternatives space, the firm says.

“Over the long term, it is our goal to develop thoughtful outcomes-based portfolios that appeal to institutional investors seeking specific solutions to meet their investment goals,” says John Fisher, president and chief executive officer of Federated Advisory Companies. “The alternatives and managed-risk group offers four outcomes-based strategies today and we hope to expand the offerings.”

Federated Investors provides comprehensive investment management to institutions and intermediaries including corporations, government entities, insurance companies, foundations, endowments, banks and broker/dealers. For more information, visit www.federatedinvestors.com.
