EBSA to Hold Webcast on Participant Fee Disclosure
The U.S.
Department of Labor’s Employee Benefit Security Administration (EBSA) is
hosting a Webcast to discuss the final rule on improving the transparency of
fees and expenses for workers in 401(k)-type retirement plans.
Reported by PLANADVISER staff
The Webcast is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13 at 1:00 p.m. EDT. EBSA will discuss the scope of the new regulation, its content requirements, and the recently extended compliance dates.
The regulation addresses a plan administrator’s disclosure responsibilities in cases where the plan allows participants to direct their own investments. This includes taking steps to ensure that these participants and beneficiaries are given, or have access to, information they need to make informed decisions and meaningfully compare the investment options under their plan.
