DBL Investors Announces New Hires

DBL Investors appointed Lisa Hagerman as Director of Double Bottom Line Programs, and Patrick Sagisi and Sarah Ham to be Associates on the investment team.

In her newly created position, Hagerman will focus on working with DBL portfolio companies to articulate and implement their second bottom line practices across workforce development, environmental stewardship, community engagement, and company siting initiatives.

Hagerman comes to DBL from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, where she led More for Mission, a research and advocacy initiative that promotes mission investing. She previously served as a Vice President at Economic Innovation International. Hagerman earned her Ph.D on Public Pension Fund Investment in Urban Revitalization from Oxford University, holds an M.A. in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a B.A. from Bucknell University.

“An important part of DBL’s investment approach emphasizes social, environmental and regional economic benefits – what we call the second bottom line – as an intrinsic part of our business philosophy. Lisa’s experience and thought leadership in the growing field of impact investing are critical to DBL as we further develop this practice,” said Nancy E. Pfund, Managing Partner.

Sagisi joins as an Associate, and brings over fifteen years of experience in the software, consumer electronics, semiconductor, and medical diagnostics industries to DBL. Previously, he was a Director in the Corporate Audit Team of Samsung.

Sagisi earned his MBA and M.S. Manufacturing Systems degrees from Stanford University, and holds dual B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science and Materials Science from the University California at Berkeley. He is also a three-time Olympian swimmer.

Ham, also an Associate, comes to DBL after earning her MBA from the Yale School of Management, where she focused on entrepreneurship in developing markets, social innovation and investments. She recently led the design of and chaired the inaugural Yale SOM Education Business Plan Competition, and was previously finance director for a congressional campaign and a marketing consultant with the MarketBridge Corporation. Ham is also a graduate of Stanford University.

“With the recent $140 million closing of our Fund II we are continuing to strengthen the DBL team with technical and investment talent, and the ability to provide extra resources to our portfolio companies as they pursue their double bottom line strategy,” said Cynthia Ringo, Managing Partner DBL Investors.
